Playback: Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake – Love Never Felt So Good

Okay, I am not writing a lengthy post here, since I’m running out of time and reserving the other write-ups in due time.

I have been listening to FM radio lately, as my relaxing resort due to my pre-employment stage; when suddenly, this track apparently popped out of my radio set.

Yes, how about the late King of Pop and one of the pop music’s new elite icon on collaboration, aye?

Don’t be confused, folks. This track titled "Love Never Felt So Good" was first recorded in 1983 as a demo written both by Michael Jackson and a fellow singer-songwriter Paul Anka, (And in case you’re not convinced go to YouTube, and search for its solo version), so this already counts as a posthumous record off the late Jackson's album Xscape.

Anyway, this version may be a series of mash-up dance moves from both Jacko (thru his music videos in the past) and the present talents. But the sound still remains the same; that typical groovy rhythm that Jackson and Epic Records used to market way back then.

Well, I therefore conclude listening to this track—same as love—never felt so good. I will recommend this track for the mean time (yes, you should listen instead of those... err, okay I won’t mention them at all).

Playback: Kongos - Come With Me Now

Since everyone seems to indulged on boy bands once again like One Direction, the Vamps, and any other else… (say, does 1975 counts?) well, I’d prefer to listen to this all-boy alternative band (at least, not a very typical bullshit known as “mainstream pop”) named Kongos.

And to be frank? Yeah, WWE Extreme Rules brought me here.

Honestly, I first thought the theme wasn't perfectly fitted for this. But still, I managed to listen to them and found the track… hmmm… quite good.

Plus, Kongos’ "Come with Me Now" was once used as a theme for the Stanley Cup, as well as The Originals, NASCAR, the trailer of the film Holy Motors, and even the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

So at least, we knew that this single has already a background in sports and entertainment events.

Four members of this South African-native band were apparently, the sons of a singer-songwriter named John Kongos.

However, I can only classify this thing as “underrated” at all, since not everyone used to be familiar with it. But believe me, folks. This one’s good.

No wonder why after 2 years (since the single was originally released in their home country), they made it big; specifically, in Canadian Hot 100 and US Billboard charts.

I think we should give these guys a break even more. Better check out their album Lunatic if you got some time.

Lookback: Batch 2011

It’s been three years since this episode aired on Philippine television; and of course, yours truly, was one of those million (should I say) college graduates from batch 2011.

And since it’s Labor Day, and by coincidence... a Thursday (or should I say... #ThrowbackThursday), let’s take a trip back to 2011 and review this episode once again.

Say, it’s not just the same old format the show that I missed the most. It’s just I realized that… hey, time flies really fast, huh? It’s like I remembered watching this episode during the last and numbered days of my student life, was 20 years old way back then, and was totally inactive on the blogosphere yet.

It’s only today when I managed to pull this stuff at all; ‘cause I feel that even if it’s already 2014, people of younger generations, specifically the fresh graduates and even those a bit elders, are still struggling to lure a working opportunity of their own.

And even yours truly experienced them all, since it’s only late 2012 when I managed to be employed for the first time in my existence.

At the moment, I can say the search for another job was already over; since I finally managed to get over the hump by acing that final interview blues recently (so I’ll say “congratulations to myself, hehehe!).

But anyway, specifically for the “struggling ones” out there, I hope this episode from Aksyon TV’s defunct socio-cultural talk show Tayuan Mo! At Panindigan might help you to be aware of what the employment-seeking situation in the country was all about. Yes, even ‘a bit.’

Lookback: Usapang Lalake – "Globe"

At the moment, I had a lot of things in my mind; some things I wish I can really put into writing (yes, in both personal blog and on my other sideline).

Unfortunately though, the other side of my logical thinking, as well as emotions and my entire soul is not cooperating with me. And I can only cite reasons which are too personal to share with.

I tried dealing with this by hitting several tracks that served as my mood-setter. Again, it’s unfortunate things weren't successful.

However, I would like to share this clip with all of you.

This may be no perfect prank for an April Fool’s Day. In fact, the joke seemed to be on Kuya Jobert’s ‘jerky boyfriend’ role here.

But… hey, I’ve been watching this video for like three years, and ended up hysterically laughing. However, there’s nothing really new on the issue, eh? I mean, let’s face it – some other guys used to do the same deed as Jobert has portrayed here. (And same goes to girls who used to do also, by the way.)

Well, maybe some jerks found a new trend in fooling their girls through text. Still, the woman emerged on top.

Talk about a rebuttal on a prank, eh?

And this reminds me something: shoot, I am missing Usapang Lalake too, like anyone else who’s been more of a die-hard fan than I do. Seriously, why such machismo-driven program like this should went off the air? They’re comical at their level.

Real deal, as it seems, right?

But back to reality, now… argh, my mind’s on the tough grind again. Maybe I should re-view their several episodes and mini-clips again as I take a brief break from blogging and the real life. 

Anyway, no sarcasm pun intended, so long!

Video: Studio 23's Final Sign-Off

As several of us witnessed the sudden departure of an old favorite, all I can have is a video recording. Well, just to clear things up – I do not own this. It’s just a recording. I saw this along with my camera phone at exactly 2 in the morning of Friday, January 17, 2014. Those were the very last moments of the 17-year old UHF channel Studio 23. Last five minutes, in fact, though programming wise-speaking it will still fall on their schedule dated January 16.

Anyway, like I said on one of my previous entries, 17 years is a very long serious run. No joke. Maybe it may be short compared to the two huge networks, but believe me – it is indeed a very long. I mean, long enough to establish their share of legacy in the Philippine TV.

And considering the fact that most of the mainstream networks have been producing garbage-like content at present? Indeed, Studio 23 is way too different than them. In fact, they’re a “total package” in my opinion, from NBA to old school sitcoms and action-comedy movies, to WWE Raw to selected Myx programs. What more can you lose (unless they do so)?

Studio 23, thanks a lot! (salute)
